Serge Biographie

Serge Kaptegaine is the founder and president of "Hand in Hand for Peace in the Congo", a Congolese relief foundation in Winnipeg / Canada. Since his arrival as a refugee in March 2005 in Winnipeg, Mr. Kaptegaine has been tireless in raising awareness of human rights violations that have resulted in the deaths of more than 4 million people in his country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
He has spoken to hundreds of High School students about the Congo and he has represented his country in many conferences including the recent war affected-children conference at the University of Winnipeg as well as at the United Nations Association of Winnipeg.

Mr. Kaptegaine continues to say; "Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness there is the key to move forward"
