Text:
In
this presentation I would like to review some of the physiological
changes and adaptations that the skin must make when one is exposed
to a tropical climate. The stress associated with this type of climate
change may exacerbate or even precipitate some common skin conditions.
These skin conditions will be highlighted with clinical slides and
an informal discussion. Conversely, some common skin problems may
actually improve with exposure to a tropical climate. These skin
conditions will be reviewed in a similar fashion. Lastly, I would
like to discuss skin care and treatment of those skin conditions
affected by exposure to a tropical climate with particular emphasis
on the dos and don'ts of sun exposure.
