Marburg Virus This virus occurs in small outbreaks in Sudan, Kenya,
and Democratic Republic of Congo and is passed between people by
intimate contact.
It is rare and low risk for travelers. It is a viral hemorrhagic
fever, which may cause fatal bleeding.
A
blood test confirms the diagnosis.
Careful
support 'barrier nursing' is required for affected people.
