Hypothermia,
Frostbite and Cold Injuries
James
Wilkerson MD Editor, Cameron Bangs MD, John S`Hayward PhD
Published
by the Mountaineers.
This
slender manual is an update on hypothermia. It has been streamlined
and made easy to read by avoiding technical medical jargon so that
no one should have trouble reading through it.
It
is a good concise review of the basics of hypothermia- why people
get too dangerously cool. The later sections describe prevention,
treatment and other cold related injuries.
This book is strongly recommended
for even those accustomed to living in cold climates as even they
may learn a few facts about cold. For travelers and others planning
out door activities in the winter the information on how to dress
for cols is valuable.
