I would strongly recommend this book to anyone planning a Jungle itinerary. It is well written so that a casual reader my read it yet contains technical information. It is well referenced for those wanting more.

As with many travel books it talks about risks and preventative measures. Treatments are also discussed in very practical terms.

Dr Walden from the references he cites- social, science, anthropological and medical knows his subject well. There are some very practical pragmatic thoughts on how to prepare for jungle expeditions.

I would strongly recommend this book for anyone going on a jungle trip or even those with a general travel interest since much of the advice is also suited for any travel.

Dr Walden has included extensive references and his own personal anecdotes complement the material well
