Immunization against the Flu (Influenza)
It is highly recommended for high-risk groups including: those over 65 years, those with chronic illnesses or a high occupational risk (health care workers, emergency responders). In Manitoba these groups receive the flu vaccine for free, although every year the eligibility rules are reviewed. If not eligible for a free flu dose people may have to pay for it. The flu shot is safe although it does contain egg products and should not be given to those with egg allergies. We will begin booking influenza clinics for businesses in mid September.
